Idle Mobile

At last, got myself the Ericcson K700i. 8-)

Since I had a problem of getting one, I went down to my main Service Provider (SP) office to get one. To my surprise, it was priced at SGP$498. I asked the sales representative why the price changed since I last looked which was SGP$298. She reasoned out that that was last week offer. That was strange, because the other SP was offering it at $298. It was out of my budget and I had to looked for an mobile. 8-(

I went back to my old apartment to checked the mail box and there were still letters addressed to me. It has been 2 years since I left that apartment!! They came friends of whom I have not heard for quite awhile. It was comforting to hear from them thou.

I have some time to spare, so I wandered around the old neighborhood. Im still dissapointed that I did not get the mobile that I wanted. Most of the shops that are selling mobile-phones are providing services other than my SP. Until the minute that I decided to go home, I found one shop that do represent my SP. I asked for the K700i and they has one and the price - SGP$298!! How can that be? I asked again to reassure and get it immediately after that8-).

Earlier during the day, had my annual checkup. The normal test - blood, urine, etc. They weigh me up and I weighted in at 87.7kg!!! My idle weight should be 69kg for my height of 173.5m. Guess I getting too fat and need some restrain with that Burger King. The complete result will be in a weeks time. So finger cross and hope that nothing out of the ordinary turns up.

I missed yesterday entry because I'm too tired. Pay a visit to my friend's sister after her husband passed away yesterday. He was in a very bad state. High blood, diabetes, jaudice, lung and kidney failure. The previous occasion that I visited him, he on confine to the hospital bed and grinning with pain. He could not eat any food and i just stood there and listen to his wife who tells the condition he is in. How do you wish him when you know his days are numbered.?? I left the hospital and reflect it to myself how it is like if I'm in that conditions.

Idle directions

Too many bad events today.

Try to get Sony Ericsson K700i from several places but they were all out of stock. I'm worried that the spare money that I had for the phone could be used for some other unexpected events. Holding hard to this remaining cash.8-(

Do you know how hard it is to sell off your car here in Singapore? The asking price is too low. This points to the relatively affordable price of a brand new car. If you trade in your car for the new, the process is taken care of the dealer. However, if you decided to sell off your car without the intention of getting a new one, you will be in the lose-lose situation. Well, the scrapeyard will be the next thing for my car 8...-(

Rumours are also going around the work place that there will be a change in the working hours. I have seen the draft and its not good. Furthermore there will also be a considerable cut in my basic pay. 8-(

Idle vs idler

Well I decided that its high time my mobile set needed a change. Its been about 2 long years and it had taken alot of knocks during its fruitful life. So I decided to pay a visit to a shop that was authorised by my telco. The shop is like all handphone shops-well stock. I knew they had the model that I was looking for. However, I need to know whether I was still under their contract to be eligible for the "discounted" price. So, I asked the girl over the counter to help me check it out. "We are not connected to XXX service provider" and continued talking to her collegue. I left them immediately and felt pissed off. Total time in the store : less than 2 minutes.

I'm back to square one. I have tried calling my mobile service provider but was on hold for the whole morning!! Well, no matter what the Govn tried to do or claimed what have been done, I as the consumer still thinks the services in retail is still CRAB.

Saturday aftermath & Idle on Sunday

Saturday night was thumbs down. Have friends around but not too much conversation. I sat around with the ladies rather than the guys. Guess what ---- EPL match Chelsea vs Newcastle. All the guys were practically glued to the google-box. No interaction, no conversation only "ooohs", "aaahhs" & "alamak!!!". Everyone of the guys talked about what the players should and souldn't do. They are the couch of the day. The went on and on and at last, the first goal at 60min and followed by another 3 till the end its 4-0 to Chelsea. That was what happen for the whole 90min at the guys side.
Sorry to say, I do not follow EPL or any other soccer matches. I keep in touch with WRC, Formula 1, tennis, yatch racing, a little golf plus a little of others. This events arenot as frequent. This upset me when the local cable provider decided to increase the subsciption citing that the cost of having the events are high. Thats BS.
I stayed over with the ladies and guess what. I knew what happened from our school days, our other friends, what happen to who, who married who, etc ,etc, etc which turns out to be a very colourful and informative round of conversation plus the bla, bla, bla. Thanks. OK guys, now you know who to hang out with if you have a reunion!!!!!!!

Those who are here in SIngapore should have read the Sunday papers. Can you believe these excepts below:
a) "I don't want kids . . To me they're parasites. They're like mushrooms growing on tress, feeding on the hosts"
b) "I have no time to have sex, let alone the commitment to bring up a child"

What is becoming to our society. The more educated they become the more selfish they'll be. Do you notice that young couples now walk or drive with their pets!!!!!! Uuuurgh. I could go on an on with this but commets on the same news column summed it up.

"People are more selfish now because of focus on individual freedom and pleasure" -- Mr Tan Thuan Seng.

Fingers crossed for Singapore future. We're getting old, please produce more.
